概要 | People can have different preferences in terms of prioritizing themselves or respecting others in the resource allocation. This social preference is one of the important axes that characterize human's prosociality. A previous study has shown that, in intuitive judgments (shorter reaction times), the prosocials show cooperative behavior and the proselfs show noncooperative behavior, while in deliberative judgments (longer reaction times), they move closer to the opposite trends (Yamagishi et al., 2017). However, what brain mechanisms are involved in the modification of prosocial behavior by the interaction between social preference and reaction time has not been elucidated. We developed a "donation game" in which reaction times differently affect prosocial judgments according to differences in social preferences and used fMRI to measure brain activity in prosocial and proself individuals while performing this task. |
